Governers & Overview

Doubletrees School is a part of the Special Partnership Trust

Whilst we have a clear legal framework that identifies the roles and responsibilities of each level of governance, please follow the link below for more details.

Here at Doubletrees we have a local governing body which has a key focus on school improvement in their local setting. They monitor, challenge and support schools in achieving outstanding learning. They represent the views and experiences of pupils, staff and families.

An introduction to the Governors at Doubletrees School

Helen Campbell

Chair of Governors and Safeguarding/Whistleblowing Governor

email: hcampbell@doubletrees.org.uk

My name is Helen Campbell. This is my second term as Chair of Governors. Before I became involved with Doubletrees, I had been a teacher at Pencalenick School for 24 years and prior to that I had taught in special schools in London. I am passionate about getting the best possible provision for our young people.

Throughout the pandemic I have had virtual meetings with Heidi, Lou and Jo so that I can keep in touch with developments particularly around areas such as safeguarding, remote learning and onsite learning. I will be monitoring the Maths Curriculum and I look forward to being able to visit the classes again … I have really missed this aspect of my role.

My hobbies are many and varied, I’m learning to play the clarinet and saxophone, I love to paint, I sew and knit, I also love being outside gardening and walking.

Lucy Hall

Staff Governor

My name is Lucy Hall and I have recently been appointed as the staff governor for Doubletrees.

I have been a teacher in Primary Schools for the last 15 years.

One year ago I decided I wanted a change and applied for a job at Doubletrees. I was lucky enough to be successful and have enjoyed every minute working here since.

I lead English across the school and have enjoyed sharing my passion for reading with the learners.

I live very local to the school and understand the role Doubletrees plays in the local community.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my two young children and our favourite place to visit is the beach.

Heidi Hoskin

Head Teacher

email:  PA to the Head Teacher. enquiries@doubletrees.org.uk

I have been teaching in Cornish schools for 21 years, with 10 years as a headteacher alongside 8 years of executive leadership experience. My own experience as a teacher and, later, headteacher has given me a firm understanding of school pressures, enabling me to secure continually improving outcomes for children. I firmly believe I can support schools to deliver their vision in practice; by sharing effective practice and understanding each school’s diverse community. Furthermore, I operate as a transparent, collaborative team leader who inspires confidence among my colleagues—which has led to high retention amongst the staff I manage.

I passionately believe that headteachers and staff should be empowered to focus on their central purpose— achieving outstanding outcomes and providing broad curriculum opportunities for each and every child.

This is enhanced through coaching, clearly communicated accountabilities and the development of robust support mechanisms and processes.

Hayley Hoyle

Co-opted Governor

I have been a Governor with Doubletrees School since March 2022.

Outside of my Governorship, I have been working within the Education Recruitment sector for over 10 years. Supporting schools and multi academy trusts across the Southwest.

Living very locally to the school and having experience of what the school does for the community, through my own work, makes me extremely proud to be a part of Doubletrees. I am passionate about the education sector and ensuring we are always striving for the best outcomes for our learners.
