In Little Orchard, we have been playing a listening game during phonics.

We have to listen closely to the sound the animal makes, and then use a core board to identify which animal we think that we can hear. Some learners have even begun to say the animal, or copy the sounds the animals make, such as the roar of the lion, or the bark of the dog.

In addition to this, it has allowed our learners an opportunity to practice their communication skills and sign language knowledge whilst applying this to a new topic.
