Celebrating Arts Week 2024

Our Artsweek in June was rounded up nicely with a full day of music!  Thanks to the Friends of Doubletrees school, we welcomed Drums for Fun CIC, who delivered music workshops to all of our learners.   Drums for Fun provides sensory, therapeutic and energetic percussion experience workshops that promote and improve mental health and wellbeing.

We also enjoyed great music from Rob on his saxophone, and singer Nolly, who are both from the Garker Street Band!

Our learners created fantastic art pieces for the Pop Up Art Display in St Austell town centre on Saturday.  Our creations were displayed alongside the artists Julianna Harwick and Colin May's work.  We would like to extend our thanks to Colin May who raised £60 for our Friends of Doubletrees charity for the sale of some of his work.

Well done to Jo Conac our Willow class teacher and expressive arts lead, for arranging these fantastic events, and thank you to Fay Pollitt (Redwood class teacher) and Jo, for giving their time to organise, set up and run the exhibition on Saturday.
