Our monthly update from local organisations offering support, workshops and information which is available to everyone within our school community. 

SPACE Parenting programme

5-week SPACE Parenting programme to be held Monday evenings starting on Mon 14 Oct 2024 - Mon 11th Nov 2024, 6pm – 7:30pm online via Teams. SPACE is a free programme for any parent or carer who wants to better understand and support their children’s emotions, as well as their own. Dear Evan Hansen – Hall For Cornwall

is coming to Truro between 8th – 12th October, and there is a £20 ticket offer available. The play is an award-winning and renowned production which has been on Broadway and the West End, and it's a wonderful show which deals with a lot of young people's anxieties and mental health concerns, as well as speaking to an audience about identity, choices and where you fit in. Offer details are:

  • £20 ticket available in Bands A-C / Up to 4 tickets per booker. 
  • Valid on Tue – Thu and Sat matinee, excludes Fri and Sat evening.

Adventures of Autumn with Equine Connect

FREE Fun and creative mental health & wellbeing children’s workshops – Sunday 10 Oct to Sun 10 November, 1.00- 3.00pm weekly, for 5-16 yrs. Equine Connect will soon be starting their next group of funded Children’s Wellbeing Workshops! If you would like to join please message or email them to confirm a space equineuconnect@gmail.com . Young Men – Learn To Skate

Free Trip for Young Men, 11-14 years old, limited availability. Contact lisa@kernow-youth.co.uk  for more information. Dates: 27 Oct, 10 Nov & 24 Nov, 10am – 12pm at TR7 Indoor Skate Park. Free transport from St Blazey Youth Centre.

Home-Start Kernow

Our next online neurodiversity session is on Tuesday 1st October from 7pm to 8pm. This is for all families with a child or young person (up to 19yrs) who are neurodiverse. Join Sharon from team HSK to chat profilers, the support available across the county, access to other groups both online and in person, and absolutely anything else you'd like to know! Dentist open day

Eden Dental Centre (based at Holmbush) are holding an open day on 12th October 9.00am - 1.00pm focusing on Children's Dental Health.

Come along and chat to the team about how we can help budget for your routine dental care, join in with some of the interactive educational displays, and there will be goodie bags to take away. Appointments will be available on the day which can be pre-booked at an event price of £20. Max Cards now available!

The Council have received a new shipment of Max Cards - the discount card for families of children with additional needs to use at venues across the UK to get free or discounted admission! A child is eligible for Cornwall's Max Card scheme providing that they are aged 0-19, have a disability and/or complex health care need, are a resident of Cornwall, and are registered on our Disabled Children's Record (DCR): Family Information Service Cornwall. 2-hour workshop on Tuesdays 6-8pm - 1st October - Special time with your child / 8th October - Technology and safety 

Energy Advice Bitesize - 1-hour session on Energy Advice including reducing your energy usage, heating controls, meters including Smart meters, and help that is available if you are struggling.
