Summer Holiday Activities 2024

Local activities, events and workshops for young people and families to enjoy for the remainder of the summer holidays. 

Active 4 All – Inclusive Wellbeing Workshops

Inclusive, relative wellbeing workshops for SEND young people ages 11 – 18.  16th, 23rd and 30th August 10.00 – 12.30.  Book by emailing hello@4motioncic.com.

The Summer of Wellbeing Festival

Saturday 17th August 10am – 3pm at Poltair Park and The One & All Bank on High Cross Street – a day of fun, games and music. 

St Austell Festival of Children’s Literature

Wednesday 21st August, 10am – 3pm at Charlestown Harbour outside the Pier House – stories and tales of mermaids and pirates, face painting and more.  Story times 10.30, 11.30, 12.30, 1.30 & 2.30.

Cornwall Neighbourhood for Change (CN4C)

Free fun activities available for families are including an African Adventure and a Bug Safari on 21st August at Menacuddle, a Junk Modelling and Boat Race on 28th August and a Beach Party at Carlyon Bay on 29th August.

‘Have A Go Days’

Free fun and friendly activities for children with additional needs and their siblings or friends, ages 6 – 17. 20th, 27th August and 3rd September.  10am – 12pm Bodmin Leisure Centre and 2pm – 4pm Cornwall College.  You must book through https://forms.office.com/e/K1sCCGW3wy to attend.

Higher Tregorrick Farm

St Austell Sunflower Trail 2024 is now open supporting Children’s Hospice Southwest and Cornwall Hospice Care.  Open weekdays at 12.00 with the last entry at 18.00.  Weekends at 10.00 with the last entry at 20.00.  £5 entry, under 5s free.  Make sure to bring suitable footwear!  More information at www.highertregorrickfarm.co.uk/sunflower-trail

Cornish Birds of Prey Centre

Every Wednesday evening throughout August, 6pm – 9pm - £5 per person.  Displays start at 7pm. Located at Winnards Perch, St Columb, TR9 6DH

St Austell Community Fire Station

Open Day – Saturday 7th September 11am – 4pm.  See the emergency service vehicles, demonstrations, games, recruitment, safety information, food & drink, music, raffle and more. 

St Austell Library

FREE summer holiday fun with crafts. 

Wednesday 21st August – ‘Filter Paper Fun’ and ‘Going Potty’ for ages 4 – 11

Wednesday 28th August – ‘Sari Silk Mosaics & Macramé’ for ages 7 – 11

Pets At Home

Join Pets at Home for free kids workshops every day at 2pm throughout the summer holidays.  Fun workshops about Syrian hamsters, learning how to care for them and designing your own hamster home while getting involved in crafts and colouring.

Alpaca Trekking with Moor View Alpacas

Open every Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, 10am until 3pm throughout August only. £5 per person, under 2s free, no booking required. www.alpacatrekkingcornwall.com.

The Eden Project
